DJ Solo found his love for DJ'n at the age of 7 in Harlem when his Dad bought

his brother a mixer and 1 Technics 1200. DJ Solo thought it was the greatest

thing he ever laid eyes on, and knew right then it was what he wanted to do. 

Age 9, DJ Solo finally gets his first turntables GEMINI BD10 and a few

records and the story begins.  His attributes as a DJ effortlessly began to

surface as DJ Solo was introduced to the pioneers of the DJ world.  DJ Solo

then saw DJ Red Alert during a street show on 125th in Harlem , without

blinking DJ Solo studied the works of DJ Red Alert trying to learn his style.  It

didn’t stop there, DJ Solo then studied Grandmaster Flash, Kool Herc, Grand

Wizard Theodore just to name a few of the pioneers that were in attendance

at the DJ battle event being held at New York’s own Polo Grounds.

In the Bronx , at the age of 11 DJ Solo began DJ’n local house parties while

trying to find his place in the DJ game while lugging around DJ equipment

with a dolly.  During this period, DJ Solo took his knowledge of music from

Hip Hop, Latin, Reggae, House & Freestyle began putting out his own mix

tapes for the local community.  While trying to find his own style, DJ Solo

meet a few people along the way such as T aka Feti Debiasi & Ken DJ Ickie

whom were serious about their craft and decided to help DJ Solo.

At the age of 13, DJ Solo landed his first gig during old school night at

Syheedas Bar Lounge in the Bronx.  This first gig quickly turned into DJ Solo

landing many other gigs in nights to follow.  Locations include such places

as T-Connections at the time, Vertigo in NYC, Esso's in NYC, Bentley's in NYC,

Cats in the BX, Webster Hall n NYC, Latin Quaters in NYC, as well as the

Palladium in NYC.  DJ Solo has even traveled to Florida, Houston, Vegas and Washington DC

to spin.  DJ Solo was now a house hold name.  As the buz grew about DJ

Solo and his skills to rock a crowd DJ Solo found himself opening well as

becoming a roadie for icons in the music industry such as DJ Funk Master

Flex of Hot 97, mix tape award winner DJ Kool Mike Ski, world famous Bricie

B, Swizz Beatz , Mr Excitement (Streetfunk TV).

Today, DJ Solo continues to rock crowds from the East to the West Coast. 

DJ Solo is also the founder and CEO of The Platinum DJz, with a team of 20

DJ's to date. The latest accomplishment in April 2010, DJ Solo has become a

member of Micheck Ent as Hip Hop artist Jus Rolle’s DJ
